My company, FoxValleyTours.com was contracted by Austin Realty to photograph two homes in April and May, 2018. My services include taking several interior and exterior photos of homes that are for sale. I provide the photos for the real estate broker to market the homes they list. I upload the photos to the multiple listing service (MLS), create a multi-photo slideshow "virtual tour" that is hosted on my site and I add a link to it in the MLS and on Realtor.com.

 

Both listings sold quickly, within 17 and 15 days on the market. Everyone agrees that professional quality photos are the primary attraction to potential buyers, generating showings, offers, and sales. So, these two listings sold quickly, Austin Realty collected the two commissions, and yet they do not want to pay for the marketing that helped make it all happen. In the over 18 years in the business of photographing properties for real estate brokers. this is the first time a brokerage has refused to pay for my work. They have not complained about the quality or timeliness of my work.

 

To this day, they have refused to pay for my services. This is not an oversight. This is not just a delay. They have explicitly declared (via email) that they do not intend to pay. They will say that in the case of the home on Naper Blvd. their client, the homeowner, wanted me to come for photos a day later than originally planned. And since I was not informed of this and photographed on the day originally scheduled, that this in some way invalidated the contract. This argument certainly does not apply to the other job, Manchester Rd.
